Sept. 9 -- Megan Leikkari turned aside all 17 shots she faced to backstop the Thunder Bay Sportop midget AA Queens to a 4-0 victory over the Bearcats Bearcats Friday in the opener of Stoney Creek Sabres Showcase tournament in Hamilton.

The Queens used a well-balanced scoring attack in the triumph getting goals from four different players.

Kailtlyn Tougas, Bronwyn Bolduc, Natasha Nicholl and Kaley Tienhaara all found the back of the net in the win while Samantha Strassburger and Farrah Nicholl would garner assists in a contest that saw them fire 29 shots on the Belleville goal.

Game two of the day sees Thunder Bay tangling with the the Chicago Mission at 8:30 p.m.
