Midget AA Queens ready for CCM tourney

THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay Sportop midget AA Queens are off to Blaine, Minn., this weekend to take part in the Upper Midwest Elite League’s CCM National Invitational Tournament at the Fogerty Arena complex.

Game action for the Queens gets underway Friday at 9:15 a.m. CT vs. the Honeybaked of Michigan under-19 side.

Later in the day Thunder Bay will meet Upper Midwest White, an all-star select squad that has some of the top players from across Minnesota competing together before their high school season starts next month. That match-up gets underway at 5:30 p.m. CT.

Remaining games for the squad will be based on their first two results.

The Queens will be competing in a 12-team division that also features elite U-19 teams from Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois and Saskatchewan taking part.
