Queens edged 2-1 by Team Wisconsin U-19

BLAINE, Minn. – Jacyn Reeves scored twice to help lead Team Wisconsin under-19 to a narrow 2-1 decision over the Thunder Bay Sportop midget AA Queens Sunday at the Upper Midwest Elite League’s CCM National Invitational Tournament in Blaine, Minn.

Reeves’ tallies came 17 second apart in the second period to break open a scoreless game.

In the final frame Allie Fairbarn had an unassisted effort for Thunder Bay with 3:19 remaining, but that’s as close as the Queens would get before time ran out.

Bailey Chenier suffered the setback in net.

The next out of town event for the Sportop Queens will be the Shattuck-St. Mary’s Sabres Fall Jamboree Nov. 14-16 in Faribault, Minn.

That will be followed two weeks later by the Minnesota Thoroughbreds U.S. Thanksgiving Classic Nov. 28-30 in St. Paul, Minn.
