Sportop Queens drop 2nd straight in Winnipeg
WINNIPEG, Man. – The Thunder Bay Sportop midget AA Queens dropped their second straight contest of a three-game set in Winnipeg falling 4-1 Saturday to the Central Plains Capitals of Portage la Prairie.
Sheridan Oswald tallied twice to help Central Plains build a four-goal lead into the third period before Samantha Isbell fed Emilie Varrin for Thunder Bay’s lone marker, which came with 12:11 to play in the third.
Fayth Chambers started for the Queens and played half the game allowing three against while Bailey Chenier saw action the rest of the way in a match-up that saw them outshot 27-10 overall.
Thunder Bay concludes the trip to Manitoba Sunday with an 11:45 a.m. face-off against the St. Mary’s Academy Flames Prep side.
