Queens Isbell named to FWSSC 1st all-star team

WINNIPEG, Man. – Thunder Bay Sportop midget AA Queens standout forward Samantha Isbell was recognized by the Female World Sport School Challenge for her on-ice efforts at the eight-team event held in Winnipeg.

At the FWSSC banquet held Saturday in the Manitoba capital, Isbell was named to the first all-star team at forward.

She led the Queens with six points in four games in the tourney, including notching four goals, and earned the accolades for her play.

Isbell has already committed NCAA hockey in the U.S. on scholarship as she’ll attend Mercyhurst University in Erie, Penn.

The Mercyhurt Lakers compete in the Division I College Hockey America conference.

They featured a Queens’ alumna in standout goaltender Amanda Makela who starred for the Lakers in net having just completed her senior year at the school.
