Queens alumna Iazzolino wins CIS championship

THUNDER BAY – A former member of the Thunder Bay Queens has won a Canadian university hockey championship with Western Ontario.

Iazzolino and the rest her Mustangs captured their first-ever CIS title Sunday with a convincing 5-0 victory over McGill in the final played in Calgary.

Western also won an OUA crown this season.

Iazzolino finished second in team scoring for the Mustangs and earned OUA second team all-star efforts on defence.

She is a third-year Nursing major at UWO.
