Goldcorp midget A Queens off to tourney in Pittsburgh

THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay Goldcorp midget A Queens are off to Pennsylvania this weekend to compete in the Pittsburgh Elite Thanksgiving Classic tournament.

Thunder Bay opens up play Friday morning at 11:15 a.m. vs. the Markham-Stouffville Stars.

That will be followed up with a 7:15 p.m. encounter against the Cazenovia Chiefs from Buffalo, N.Y.

Providing the opposition for the Queens next game in the tourney will be the Armstrong Arrows of Kitanning, Penn., in a contest that goes Saturday at 9:15 a.m.

Wrapping up round robin play, Thunder Bay will take on the Toronto Leaside Wildcats at 1:15 p.m.

A total of 10 teams make-up the midget A division in the three-day event.

With two divisions of five, the first and second place clubs will advance to the semifinals on Sunday morning.

The championship game will then be played later in the day at 2:30 p.m.
