Bantam AA Queens go 1-1-1 in Wisconsin

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Thunder Bay bantam AA Queens have returned home from a three-game set in Chippewa Falls, Wis., going 1-1-1 against Team Wisconsin.

Game 1 saw netminder Camryn Williams turn aside 31 of the 34 shots she faced in a 5-3 win by Thunder Bay.  

Mikaela Chimbakis, Kendra Fortin, Sarah Grieve, Brenna Nicol and Sydney White, into an empty net, led a balanced scoring attack for the Queens who pumped 30 shots on goal in the decision.

Game 2 saw Wisconsin score twice on the power play with goalkeeper Lindsay Humeniuk finishing with 27 stops as the two clubs skated to a hard-fought 4-4 draw.

Thunder Bay generated 41 shots on net and were rewarded with tallies from Sibley Duckert, Kailey Swerhun, Alexis Paddington and Fortin.

The finale once again saw the Queens carry the play outshooting their opponents 42-23, however Team Wisconsin struck four times in a four-minute span to salvage a series split with a 4-2 victory.

Brenna Nicol scored twice for Thunder Bay in the setback.
