Sportop Queens post 4th straight shutout in Brampton

BRAMPTON, Ont. – Another game, another shutout for the Thunder Bay Sportop midget AA Queens as they kept their opponents off the scoresheet for a fourth consecutive outing, skating to a 2-0 triumph over the Cambridge Roadrunners Saturday evening in 2 Nations College Prep Series action in Brampton, Ont.

The Queens picked up both of their markers in the opening period before tightening up defensively the rest of the way.

Ellen Svane got the eventual game-winner for Thunder Bay 5:35 into the contest with Jayda MacArthur and Briana Prete earning assists.

Hannah Armstrong added another just over five minutes later to round out the scoring. Tia Lampo and Molly Kunnas helped set-up the tally.

The Queens outshot Cambridge 39-14 overall with Josée Robinson posting the shutout.

Thunder Bay now advances to quarter-final action Sunday morning at 7:15 a.m. against a yet to be determined opponent.
