Swerhun Commits to Wisconsin-Superior for 2020-21

THUNDER BAY, ON — Third year Forward for the Sportop Midget AA Queens, Kailey Swerhun has committed her hockey talents to the Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjackets for the 2020-21 season.

Kailey had her pick of offers but after visiting the UWS campus, the decision was easy. "I knew this was the school that would be the best fit for me both academically and hockey wise." Swerhun explained, "It is a smaller university, great facilities and opportunities for personal growth through academics, athletics and community involvement. The University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjackets allows me to continue to play the game I love and get a good education. I am going to be studying Criminal Justice/Forensics."

Kailey credits her time playing with the Queens for giving her the tools and the opportunities to succeed, "It has taught me time management, perseverance, team work, leadership and to work hard on and off the ice. All of my coaches over the past 5 years have helped me improve and grow as a player/person and gave me a platform to showcase my talents for opportunities like U of W-S."

Swerhun thanks here teammates, who she's created a lot of life-lasting memories with, as well as the Queens managers, trainers and teachers as well as... "my family for without them, none of this would be possible."
