George Perfect on Birthday

PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE, MB — On Sunday, the Sportop Midget AA Queens had their final game of the Central Plains Capitals Showcase as they took on the Interlake Lightning.

After a scoreless first, the Queens’ Gaby Andreacchi opened the scoring after a setup feed from Darbie Mattson. Mattson would draw another assist on a goal in the third by Reese Coffey to extend the Queens lead to 2-0. Queens goalie, and birthday girl, Mykaila George was perfect in the game, earning the shutout as Brenna Nicol put the game completely out of reach with an empty net goal. 3-0 final.

The Queens fly back to Thunder Bay with a 2-2 record in four pretty tightly contested games.
