Day 2 of the 2 Nations Cup for Sportop Midget AAs

BRAMPTON, ON — The Sportop Midget AA Queens entered day two of the Two Nations Cup with a 1-1 record facing the Brantford Ice Cats in another tight game. After two scoreless periods, the Ice Cats finally broke the tie scoring a couple quick goals early in the third. Alexis Paddington responded for her side, scoring after being setup by Gaby Andreacchi but it would be as close as the Queens got to a comeback, losing 2-1.

The Queens went on to play Pembina Valley at 5:00pm on Saturday. Another tightly checked game. The first goals didn't come until the second period when Paddington opened the scoring for the Queens but Pembina tied it just 70 seconds later. The Queens took the lead again after Reese Coffey scored off a feed from Darbie Mattson but Pembina had an answer again, tying it at two in the third which was the final goal of the game. 2-2 tie.

The Queens finish the 2 Nations Cup with a 1-2-1 record, all tight games (3-2, 2-1, 2-1, 2-2).
