Strasser & Lang Peewee Queens Shutout Hosts

BLAINE, MN — The Bantam A and Strasser & Lang Peewee Queens kicked off the Girls Super Chill Tournament with a game each on Friday.

The Peewees met the hosts, Centennial Cougars, and drew first blood on the powerplay after Beth Gagnon scored on a play setup by Kingston Golding and Brynn Hannula. The 1-0 lead held through the second until the Queens could build on it in the third. Annie Mallon got the puck to Golding who’d snipe one for her second point on the night and Sidney Ritson added an insurance marker (with Kiera Stokaluk and Mallon drawing assists). Goalie Sophia Delorme stonewalled Centennial to earn a shutout. 3-0 final.

Meanwhile the Bantam As took on Elk River but didn’t have as much to show for it as Elk River scored twice in the first, twice in the third and didn’t allow any goals the other way, dropping the Queens 4-0.

The Peewee Queens will play a couple games Saturday, first at 10:55am against Mahtomedi and then again at 5:35pm versus Rosemount. The Bantam As will try to change their luck against Wayzata at 10:40am and earn a playoff spot against Anoka/Rogers at 5pm.
