Strasser & Lang Peewee Queens Extend Shutout Streak

BLAINE, MN — On Day Two of the Girls Super Chill Tournament,    the Bantam A Queens looked to get their first win in the U15A division while the Strasser & Lang Peewee Queens looked to keep being perfect in the U12A pool.

The Bantam As had a rough game unfortunately against Wayzata, getting scored on 7 times before answering with one of their own, Taylor MacLean scoring on a joint effort with Brooklyn Voortman and Regan Lightbody drawing assists. Their afternoon slate didn’t go much better as Anoka/Rogers dropped the Queens 5-0. Stiff competition will never pump your tires but it can give you some really challenging reps that will make you better in the long-run. The Bantam As will have a shot at 7th place on Sunday at 10:10am against Blaine.

Over in the U12A division, the Strasser & Lang Peewees opened up Day Two against Mahtomedi. The first goal didn’t come until the 2nd period when Beth Gagnon sniped after being given a pass by Makenzee Kostiuk. Karlyn Stein extended the lead and shortly after, Kingston Golding also buried one to make it 3-0 after two. Goalie Allie Attema kept the shutout streak going to two games and stopped everything. Edelweiss Price netted a fourth goal, Brynn Hannula made it 5-0, and Kostiuk put the final touches on a 6-0 drubbing. Paige Lambert, Gagnon and Hannula drew assists on the three third period goals.

That evening, the Peewees took on Rosemount and Queens netminder Sophia Delorme maintained perfection for Thunder Bay, getting her 2nd shutout, the Queens 3rd straight, but Rosemount’s goalie was equal to the task also not allowing a goal in a 0-0 draw.

The Peewee Queens will play Chaska on Sunday in the semi-finals at 9:35am. Win or lose, they’ll have a 5th game either playing for Gold or Bronze.
