Strasser & Lang Queens Earn Impressive Silver at Super Chill

BLAINE, MN — On Championship Sunday, the Strasser & Lang Peewee Queens got up bright and early for a semi final matchup against Chaska/Chanhassen.

The Peewee Queens, not having allowed a goal through 3 games, kept that perfect record intact through 2 periods as Sophia Delorme fought off all scoring chances against. The Queens would finally capitalize on a powerplay in the third when Annie Mallon worked the puck to Keira Stokaluk who’d setup Kingston Golding for the 1-0 goal. Golding and Stokaluk showed up on the scoresheet a few minutes later, drawing assists on a Mya Steele goal. The 2-goal lead was more than enough as the Queens skated to their 4th consecutive shutout, earning a spot in the Championship final.

In the gold medal game, the Queens took on Osseo-Maple Grove (OMG). Late in the first, the shutout streak would finally be broken as OMG scored and took a 1-0 lead. In the second, Brynn Hannula would tie the game for her side. 1-1 after two. In the third period OMG would take a 2-1 lead, the Queens couldn’t find an answer goal as they’d lose 2-1.

The Strasser & Lang Queens took home 2nd place after a very impressive performance going 4-1 and outscoring opponents 13-2 on a weekend highlighted by goalies Allie Attema and Sophia Delorme both earning a couple shoutouts each.
