Bantam As in Minnesota for New Year’s Spectacular
BLAINE, MN — The Bantam A Queens are in Blaine, Minnesota this weekend for the 2020 Super Rink New Year's Spectacular Tournament in the U15 A division.
Friday, they took on Rochester in their first round-robin game and would get on board first after Amanda Valente scored in the second period after a pass from Victoria Posselwhite. Rochester would tie the game back up on a powerplay, making it 1-1 going into the third. Chloe Allam capitalized late in the game on a setup from Regan Lightbody to take the lead, after which Lightbody put home the insurance goal from sister Sidney Lightbody with just 40 seconds remaining to win it 3-1. The Queens outshot Rochester 21-15.
Looking ahead to tomorrow, the Queens have a pair of games first at 12:40pm Central Time against Armstrong Cooper and then at 5:30pm against Lakeville. Sunday’s games will be determined after that point.
