Bantam A Queens Finish Strong at Super Rink Spectacular
BLAINE, MN — Final day of the 2020 Super Rink New Year's Spectacular Tournament, the Bantam A Queens took on Andover in their final match before going home, looking to even out their 1-2 record.
Andover drew first blood early in the opening period but the Queens would draw even just before the second as Grace Fitzpatrick buried a setup feed from Paige Fucile past the Andover netminder. 1-1 after one. In the second, the Queens went to work on a powerplay to take over the lead. Alexis Prepp negotiated the puck over to Emily Leveque who found Chloe Allam in a dangerous shooting position. Allam would snipe to put the Queens up 2-1. In the third, Lily Lingner would need to be the Queens’ best player as they killed off 3 straight penalties and held the door shut when Andover pulled the goalie for the extra attacker to take a 2-1 win.
So with the win, the Bantam A Queens head home with a .500 record at 2-2. Next tournament up for the Bantam A’s is the Robin’s Tournament beginning January 16th.
