Gridlink Atom Queens Give As Good As They Get at St Luke’s Icebreaker

DULUTH, MN — The Gridlink Atom Queens started their final day of the St Luke’s Icebreaker Invitational with a 8:15am start against Woodbury. It was a close game but one where the Queens ultimately fell short as Woodbury potted a couple goals in the second to the Queens’ one third period goal from Danica Wilson in a 2-1 loss.

Fighting for 7th place, the Queens took on White Bear Lake in their final game. After a scoreless first, Olivia Vinet scored an unassisted marker in the second period. Goalie Norah Traer would need to remain perfect for the Queens’ chance of winning and did as she shutout WBL. Vienna Minnella put home an empty net goal to seal it for the Gridlink Queens.

Despite their 2-2 record, much like the Bantam AA Queens who were also in this tournament, they easily could have gone 4-0 as  both their losses were by a score of 2-1, but that’s not always how the bounces go. Great tournament overall anyhow.
