8 Game recap - Nov 12, 2021

The Staal Utility U11 Queens lead the way in the U11A division of the Westfort Icebreaker, with dominate wins against KC Whalers and VP bearcats.  The team showed their offensive side in both games including a 4 goal game by Grace Vinet.  One the defensive side they allowed a combined 1 goal.  The U11 team looks to continue their winning ways Saturday 11:00 against the 3-0 Elks Athletics (FWFN1)

The Fat Guys U13 Queens got back to their winning ways with a tough battle against Nor-West.  The team saw goalie Abbey Petersen limit the opposition to 1, while Ava Hrubeniuk netted both goals in the 2-1 win. 

The evening game had the Queens matched up against Fort Frances.  The back and forth affair ended regulation tied at 3.  Goals in regulation from Olivia Vinet and 2 from Vienna Minnella.  The Queens would be victorious in the shootout with successful attempts from Morgan Barenz and Sienna Ricciardi.  Norah Trear would stand tall in the victory allowing only 1 of 4 attempts past her in the shootout win.

The team has 5 points in the tough U13AA Division.

The U15A Queens looked to bounce back from their shootout defeat the night before however things didn't go their way.  The team lost to both KC and ELKS. 

The Strasser & Lang U15AA Queens are the lone team on the road this weekend.  The early morning matchup against the host Oakville Hornets did not go as planned.  The team suffered a 5-2 loss.  In the afternoon game the results would be similar with a 4-1 loss to Ottawa Lady 67's.  The team looks to get back into the win column with games against London and Stoney Creek on Saturday.

Queens combined record on the day was 4-4.  Another full schedule of games for the 4 teams takes place on Saturday.
