Thunder Bay Queens Hockey Organization

The Sportop U18AA Queens kicked off their season today at the highly scouted Stoney Creek Showcase.

Game 1 was against the Scarborough Sharks. The Queens controlled much of the play and we’re finally rewarded at the 12:11mark of  the first period with their first goal  of the game and the season. Makenzee Kostiuk banged home a short pass from behind the net from Rhae Thomas. Akira Tatebe chipped in with the other helper on the goal.

An aggressive forecheck and solid defensive play would shut the Sharks down the rest of the game. 
Shots on goal favoured the Queens by a count of 19-11. Abby Wills was solid in net to take the win.

Next up for the U18AA Queens is a clash with the highly touted Brampton Canadettes at 6:10 tonight.
