Sportop midget AA Queens remain unbeaten in New Hampshire

EXETER, N.H. -- The Thunder Bay Sportop midget AA Queens remain perfect after day two at the 2 Nations Tier 1 Elite Showcase in Exeter, N.H. tacking on a couple more victories Saturday.

After opening up with two triumphs Friday Thunder Bay continued to roll defeating the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite 4-1 in their early match-up Saturday and followed that up by blanking the Milwaukee Jr. Admirals 5-0.

Against Pittsburgh the Queens got tallies Samantha Strassburger, Jessica Ricklefs, Kaley Tienhaara and Karli Nummikoski in the triumph while Farrah Nicholl dished out a pair of assists.

Kaity Howarth and Michelle Carlson added solo helpers.

Thunder Bay outshot the Penguins 24-20 with Jayde Turcotte picking up the win in net.

In the night cap Samantha Isbell had a couple of markers while Paige Sullivan, Tienhaara and Strassburger supplied singles.

Emily Oleksuk and Tienhaara also set-up up two goals each while solo assists went to Carlson, Isbell, Ricklefs and Bronwyn Bolduc.

Sydeny Isbell went the distance in net posting the shutout in a game thatsaw her side out shoot Milwaukee 37-11.

The Queens will conclude competition Sunday at 8 a.m. against Team Detroit from Michigan.
