Alberta’s Warner Warriors too much for Queens

WINNIPEG, Man. – Kennedy Ganser had two goals and a pair of assists as the Warner Warriors of Alberta went on to defeat the Thunder Bay Sportop midget AA Queens 7-1 Friday in Day 2 play at the Female World Sport School Challenge in Winnipeg.

Warner jumped out to intermission leads of 2-0 and 5-0 before the Queens’ Samantha Isbell put Thunder Bay on the board early in the final frame. Emilie Varrin and Paige Sullivan earned assists on the play.

Isbell notched both markers for her side Thursday as well giving the Mercyhurst Lakers NCAA recruit three tallies after two outings.

Bailey Chenier started and suffered the loss allowing five against while Fayth Chambers gave up the final two in nearly 25 minutes of relief.

The Queens return to the ice tonight at 8:30 p.m. vs. Pursuit of Excellence Red from Kelowna, B.C.
