KAPUSKASING, ON — The Gridlink Midget A Queens opened up the four game series with the Kapuskasing Jaguars with a 3-1 win on Friday. Saturday morning the Queens got a quick jump on the Jaguars with two goals from Kayla Stein and Emma Johnston. Kapuskasing cut the lead to one. Sunday morning the Queens looked to go undefeated in the series but the Jaguars would make it difficult scoring 27 seconds into the game. Thunder Bay turned the tables as Caitlyn McGuire and Caitlin Olinski both scored second period goals to take the lead into the third but Kapuskasing scored a goal early into the period and then another in the last 5-minutes to take the lead which the Queens couldn’t answer back to in a 3-2 loss.
