Queens Teams Battle Alexandria Teams

BLAINE, MN — Both Bantam A and Peewee Queens teams opened the Centennial Super Chill tournament on Friday night with games against the teams from Alexandria in their respective divisions.

In the 15U A division, the Bantam As jumped to an early lead when Rayne Bechard  setup Paige Fucile who’d score 3:28 into the game. Alexandria would get a powerplay late in the period and score the tying goal with just 38 seconds left in the first. Queens goalie Presley Brohm held the door shut stopping 36 of 37 shots in total, preserving the 1-1 final for her team.

Over in the 12U A division, the Peewee Queens were also in a tight game with Alexandria but they’d manage to find that second goal, winning their first game of the tournament by a score of 2-1.

Tomorrow the Bantam As will meet up with Minnetonka at 12:15pm and Centennial at 6:35pm. The Peewees have a morning game against North Wright County at 10:55am before facing Centennial/Chisago Lakes at 4:15pm.
