The #sixdegreeschallenge called on Ontarians to bring this often invisible diseased into the spotlight by throwing up six fingers, taking a pic and posting on social media leading up to world kidney day.  In a play on six degrees of separation, the idea that all people, on average, are 6 or fewer social connections away from each other and only 6 social connections away from someone with kidney disease.

World Kidney Day 2022 has been declared the year of “Kidney Health for All” focusing on bridging knowledge gaps to improve kidney health through increased kidney care education and awareness in the public arena.

The U15AA Queens have made a donation to the Renal/hemodialysis fund in honour of Kate Clower.

 

U11 Win Westfort Tournament

The Staal Utility U11 Queens team wins the Westfort Tournament.  The Championship win saw scoring by committee, with scoring from 6 different players.

Queens see mixed results

The remaining two Thunder Bay Queens saw mixed results on Saturday afternoon. 

The Staal Utility U11 Queens team won their semi-final game against North End Flames.  The win places the team in the Championship game Sunday 10:30 (TC) against KC Whalers.

In Oakville the Strasser & Lang U15AA Queens team suffered a lopsided loss at the hands of Stoney Creek.  The team plays a fifth and final game Sunday against London before returning home.
