The Sportop U18AA Thunder Bay Queens kicked off the North York Stormfest with a morning game vs Ottawa Lady 67’s. The game saw the Queens battle back from a 1-0 2nd period deficit, to tie the game up at 1-1. Bridget Cameron scored the lone goal for the Queens resulting in an opening game tie.
The late afternoon game saw a similar outcome for the Queens. The tilt against King Royals had goals go back and forth until the final buzzer signalled. The end result again, ending in a tie (2-2). Goals for the Queens were scored by Emma Firth and Jenna Jackson.
The Queens records sits at 0-0-2 going into the important third game Saturday morning against Scarborough Sharks. The Queens and Sharks are currently tied for 2nd in the Thompson Division.
